I’m lucky to have the lovely Morticia Knight on my blog today. She’s here to share a collection of books one must not miss out on.
Hi Draven, and thank you so much for having me here today at your blog to spotlight the Gin & Jazz series.
I’m going to share a few snippets from each part of Jack’s journey to give you an idea what to expect. There is a lot of drama, angst, good times and heartbreak – along with some very lusty encounters. Jack may be a sweet and naïve young man, but he has an insatiable lust for the men he loves – but more importantly – a longing to find true love forever.
The 1920’s are filled with gin, jazz, and the promise of easy money. When the young and innocent Jack heads to Hollywood with his best friend and lover – he believes that everything will be magical for them. They just need to stick together, no matter what.
The celluloid kingdom demands a hefty price from all who want a piece of the dream. Sacrifices must be made if you want to be a part of the glitz and glamour. Flappers, screen idols and the men behind the star-making machine all conspire to interfere with Jack’s happiness. Along the way, many of Hollywood’s players discover that unfortunately, sometimes dreams do come true.
Book One: Hollywood Bound
Nineteen year-old Jack has been in love with the older, more street-wise Nick who has looked out for him ever since Jack landed in New York three years before. Jack had been kicked out of the orphanage for messing around with one of the boys there. Even though Jack knows Nick is engaged to a gal back in Philly, he’s sure that Nick must feel something for him too. One night, hiding in the Vaudeville theatre where they work, it’s dark – and Jack wonders…
Jack turned within Nick’s hold, and put his arms around Nick’s shoulders. He pressed his cheek to Nick’s chest and breathed him in. Nick tensed a little, but didn’t let go. It seemed as if this one moment would forever change them. Tentatively, testing to see how far he could go, Jack ran his hands down Nick’s muscled back. He stopped when he reached his waist, waiting to see if Nick would push him away. Even though he remained tense, he didn’t grab Jack’s hands to stop them, and he didn’t let go of Jack’s waist.
Jack paused before going any further. The quiet was deafening between them, but he was certain that if he uttered any sound, it would break the magic that was keeping them both in thrall. Moving even more cautiously, Jack let his hands drop lower, past Nick’s waist, and settled them on the ass he had secretly admired for so long.
The silence broke.
“Jacky,” whispered Nick, “we shouldn’t be touching each other like this.”
Even as he said it, Jack knew in his heart that it was a lie, as Nick hadn’t let him go. And he could feel his closest and only friend’s hard cock pressed against his belly.
Book Two: Razzle Dazzle
In this installment, Jack has not only made it to Hollywood, but he is now about to sign his own contract at Global Pictures Studios. He’s at a lunch with the studio heads to finalize the deal, when screen idol, Roman Pasquale, appears unexpectedly to join them. Jack doesn’t realize that it’s all a deliberate ploy by Roman to get to the naïve young Jack.
Jack grabbed his drink, but the moisture from the condensation had effectively glued the coaster to the bottom.
“Here. Let me help you.”
Roman placed his hand over Jack’s where he held the glass, and plucked the small mat from the bottom, setting it down. Roman was loath to remove his hold—the contact between their skin so hot and full of promise—but under the prying eyes of the studio men, he dared not tarry. Jack shook noticeably, barely able to take a swallow of his drink, and Roman was alternately pleased and sorry that he had done this to him. He didn’t want to do anything that might cause the mighty bosses to change their minds about hiring his sweet Jack. It would be worth putting up with Trixie every day if he could have Jack as well.
The other men had been lost in their own conversation for a few minutes, so Roman was sure they hadn’t noticed anything untoward going on. Roman waved his hand, and the waiter came over.
“A Martini, dry, two olives.”
The waiter looked positively shocked, and was sputtering something about how that was impossible. “Calm down, my dear fellow, I was jesting. I’ll have a sparkling soda with lime. Gentlemen, what are you having?” He leaned into Jack slightly, and said a bit softer. “And you Jack. Would you like another drink? Possibly something less moist?”
Jack coughed. “No thank you.”
His voice was quiet, and he still didn’t look at Roman. Maybe he’d gone too far. The boy was such an enigma. The only thing he could think of was that the boyfriend must have controlled him, done everything for him—dominated him in all ways.
His cock stiffened again. How he would love to hold Jack down and do to him everything that a man could do to another man.
Book Three: Tarnished Glitter
Jack and Roman have been lovers for a while now, and Jack’s star has risen in the film industry. But he still feels like that kid who hopped a train from New York, grew up in an orphanage and always had his best friend Nick with him. Despite being surrounded by luxury and the constant attentions of his older lover, Jack wishes he could live a more normal life. But Roman adores him, loves him to the point of obsession and their raw sexual connection is impossible to deny.
Roman flipped Jack onto the ground so that he faced him, and ripped his shirt open, shoving the fabric aside. He bit into the crook of Jack’s neck. Jack first yelped, then moaned. He pumped his hip into Roman’s thigh. He needed to come, even though they had barely begun. Roman reached under Jack’s head with one hand to cradle him there and used the other to grasp and squeeze his backside, pressing them even closer. Jack responded by wrapping his legs around Roman’s waist.
Roman continued to bite and lap all around Jack’s neck and throat. He nipped at an earlobe, and licked his way to Jack’s chin, giving him a quick nibble there. Still they ground and pushed against one another, Roman’s hands gripping his ass with more force. They wouldn’t be able to last. He wouldn’t be able to last.
“Oh, God, Roman, I…”
“Yes.” Roman’s whisper was feral against his ear, his hot breath sending an electrical charge from Jack’s spine to down very low in his abdomen. “Come.”
Jack clutched Roman’s shoulders, and they both let go at once. Jack’s cry was so loud that he shocked himself. Roman’s answering cry was guttural, like an animal. Their coupling had been quick and frantic. Despite the deeply satisfying orgasm, he had looked forward to a long slow night with Roman, as well as the feel of his lover inside of him.
At last, Roman’s breathing slowed somewhat, and he propped himself up on his elbows to look down at Jack. Roman smiled in a contented way and brushed Jack’s soft waves of hair off his forehead.
“Don’t look so disappointed, my sweet Jack.”
“I’m not disappointed. That was wonderful.”
“As wonderful as my cock filling you? Thrusting inside of you so hard that you can’t even move?”
Now he understood Roman’s game. Already it had worked. Roman’s words combined with his smouldering stare was bringing Jack’s dick back to life.
“Roman, please. I want you.”
“And don’t I always give you what you want?”
“Yes, Roman.” Jack spoke softly, unable to mask the need in his voice.
Book Four: Starring Role
In the final installment of Jack’s story, he’s learning to be on his own and live his life as he pleases. His heart has been through so much, he doesn’t know if he can take any more – or if he’ll ever find the one for him. All he’s ever wanted was one true love, but that seems to be the one thing that escapes him. In this scene, his thoughts and desires take over his dreams – but it is all more confusing than ever.
Roman’s mouth covered his in a demanding kiss, his tongue probing deep in an unrelenting assault. The scent of Roman’s Louis Vuitton cologne that always drove him mad with desire filled Jack’s nostrils. Held down on the bed by the much larger man, Jack let himself submit to the need that Roman’s lust always incited in him. Jack bent his knees and lifted them up, wrapping them around Roman’s waist, readying himself to be breached by Roman’s large shaft. He felt the pressure of soft steel against his entrance, and a harsh thrust impaled him. The relentless pounding was heavenly, driving Jack into the mattress. Jack gave of himself completely, allowing his body to be plundered until the tension building low in his groin surged up his spine, drawing his balls in tight. He opened his eyes to gaze up at his lover. But it wasn’t Roman’s dark eyes staring down at him.
“Jacky boy, I won’t let him touch you anymore. This is my cock going inside of you – only me from now on, you understand?”
Confused and disoriented, Jack clutched Nick’s shoulders and cried out his release.
Sobs ripped from Jack’s throat as he jerked up in bed. His breathing was frantic, and sweat poured down the side of his face. Something was wet on the sheet, and he yanked it off of him. He’d spilled his cum all over himself and the bed. He shivered, but not from cold. Thoughts of Nick in that way hadn’t seeped into his mind for quite a while. Roman had made sure to wipe out any hint of Nick’s memory every chance he got.

M/M Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys a good saucy tale – after all, who doesn’t? Since she loves several genres, you may find your heroes in a contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi setting. One of her passions is bringing people’s fantasies to life on the page, because life is too short for even one boring moment. Her stories are volcanic in heat, deep in emotion, and sprinkled with doses of humor.
When not indulging in her obsession for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. The Pacific Northwest is the ideal spot to enjoy both hiking and beachcombing. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She now resides on the northern coast of Oregon, where the constant rain and fog remind her of visits to family in England and Scotland when she was a child.
She is currently working on the Gin & Jazz series about the glitz and glamour of 1920’s Hollywood and additional installments of the Uniform Encounters series.
